Well, I feel like this has been creeping up on me for a long time. Ever since this happened, I've been pretty frazzled and stressed, and have been working long hours that leave me exhausted when I get home. Keeping up this blog feels like a job, and the last thing i want to feel like is that I have two.

I have actually had big plans for this blog with a new layout and a move to wordpress...I just need some time to focus on getting that up and running before I can continue posting daily. I'm almost there, but I need some time to get everything set. I'll still continue posting on twitter & instagram, so be sure to follow me there.

What I Wore | New Hair

Some of you might have seen on my instagram that I cut my hair...and here it is! I'm still getting used to it to be honest (it wasn't what I had in mind...) but it definitely feels lighter. Any tips on getting used to a new cut??



Also can we talk about how it's finally cooling down and making room for Fall? I'm so excited to be wearing boots & blazers again!

Ok, I am dying to try this 2 ingredient ice cream, since it doesn't involve an ice cream maker, yay! Have you tried this recipe? I really want to know if it will come out like the recipe....sometimes I try a recipe and it comes out way off.

I made this post thinking it would be perfect as we transition to fall....NOPE says the weather, we're going to be stuck in hot & humid! (this no longer applies.) But there is still something to be said about the dark mystery of these colors. I think I'll find myself gravitating more towards this style as the cooler months roll in. Are you a fan of this dark romance vibe?

Although I don't normally gravitate towards things that are black & white for my home, I can appreciate the simple statements that graphic prints provide. I love this numbers pouf from Land of Nod, and think it would make such a fun piece for a living room or play room. And the teapot print would make an adorable addition to a kitchen!

Also, I had a very nice time at the wedding this weekend, thanks to all who asked! It was the first wedding I was in, and I have to say...that's a lot of stress for just a few hours, huh? ;)

Throwback Thursday | 2

I'm so excited that you all seemed to enjoy the first Throwback Thursday post, and even more excited that many of you also started out in the same way! I'm definitely going to keep this column up, but I think I may make it every two weeks.

Today, I'm really loving the soft & feminine vibe of this product & print. That flamingo print is so soothing and has me wishing for cool, dreamy weather. I'm thinking a picnic and using these tea towels as placemats!

Recipe | Peach Margaritas

So this weekend I was able to go peach picking with some of my friends, and despite the hot, humid weather, we were able to make some pretty kick-butt margaritas :) My friend Karyn just recently moved into a new house, so we took the photos there. and hung out with her adorable 6-month-old and italian greyhound pups. Thanks for the help with the photos, Anthony & Sam!

PERFECT PEACH MARGARITAS
You will need:

• 5 ripe peaches
• 1 1/3 cup Souza blue
• 2/3 cup peach schnapps
• 3 cup crushed ice
• 1/3 cup sugar

All you need to do is peel & mash up the peaches, add all ingredients to blender and mix to your desired consistency (I like mine to still have good sized chunks of peaches). And bam, perfect peach margaritas :)

Do you have an exciting plans for the weekend? I was 100% sure I had to work on Monday, but I just found out I didn't, so that brightened my mood! I'm heading out with my friends to go peach picking on Saturday, then I fully plan on making peach pie & peach margaritas :) Although that caramelized fig ice cream looks pretty delicious, too!

Throwback Thursday?

So this has been an idea I've had for quite some time now...sharing all of my old projects, from '05-'07, back when I was just discovering what "digital art" was. I started out back in about 2003 making cartoon dolls, or basically drawing pixel clothes on pixel bodies. At that point, we all either knew I'd be a fashion designer or some sort of digital artist, ha! Unfortunately, I don't have any of my old dolls after a tragic computer crash in 2005. But I do have all of my old collages!

I had this livejournal account, and I loved making icons...that was my favorite. The livejournal is still up, but tragically, all my photobucket links are broken ;) How I wish I knew what an external hard drive was back then!


Side note...elmers glue?? Totally relevant to the 'scene'...

The reason I was hesitant to post these is because I don't have the credits to the original images, but I think it's so fun to share how you got started and show that progression. If you're interested in seeing more (believe me, I made plenty!!) let me know! I still can't quite believe I made these...it's so different than my aesthetic now!

There's something really special about simplicity done right, and today's post definitely highlights that. I love collecting mugs, and the simple stripe of this jumbo much is perfect. I could definitely see this mug in the kitchen of the stylish lady who owns this sassy print.

I also can't help but love this color combo of teal and purple - it really makes a statement!

Island Creek Oyster Bar | Oat Creative

How great is this branding for Island Creek Oyster Bar by Oat Creative? I love pretty much every project Oat creates, but this one is especially fun. Living in New England where oysters are really popular, I can really see this branding fitting in really well.



Also...the Island Creek Oyster Bar website is a must-visit. It's amazing!

If you haven't seen Mark Brooks' work before, you're missing out. This collection of posters has some of my favorite works by him. I love the geometric patterns of the below poster, and the muted colors are gorgeous. And I'm sure I can't be the only one who has coveted these walnut serving boards by A Sunny Afternoon, right? What a great statement piece that would make in any kitchen!

This week I'm all about traveling....seeing everyone's vacation photos (and this beautiful illustration), I can't help but dream of some foreign places! Of course, I would travel in style with these luggage tags (and get the matching passport cover as well!).

What I Wore | Warby Parker Shades

So. I finally got myself a pair of prescription sunglasses! After having terrible, terrible eyesight for as long as I can remember, I can now say that I can confidently wear my glasses on even the sunniest of days! I purchased myself these Warby Parker Preston sunglasses. I am in love. They fit well, work well, and are super stylish. Looking forward to sunny days so I can wear them!

I feel like over the past week, when it's been a bit cooler, I've been in complete fall mode. I've wanted to wear more pants and more neutral, cooler colors. And that translates right into my aesthetic for what I'm currently loving this week. Hopefully, you can appreciate my mini taste of what I hope fall to be!

I'm also looking forward to a relaxing weekend - I don't think I've had one of those in over a month!
