Dream Kitchen

I've been thinking a lot about kitchens recently. Maybe it's time for a kitchen makeover? While browsing around, I've come to the conclusion that I like slightly dark, slightly rustic, slightly modern, fun kitchens (which is strange, because for every other room, I love white with pops of color). That's totally a thing, right? Anyone else also love these types of kitchens?

  1. I love these kitchens. I like a little darkness in my kitchen too. Actually I like the combo of white and black. I LOVE that chalkboard wall in the first pic.

  2. Right now our kitchen is dark because I couldn't find a color to match our strange grayish-blue counter surface except for ONE dark chocolately-mocha color called pickle barrel or something. I actually love it though!

I love that dark blue with those lights. :) And those gold glasses are absolutely perfect.

  3. I am inspired by these kitchen designs. I'm especially adoring the chevron pattern backsplash in the upper right corner. It's so modern! I love that these are dark in theme.

  4. I think as much as I like the drama, I still really like light and bright kitchens. It probably has to do with the fact that I've had black granite countertops for over 3 years now and dark wood cabinets. I just want something bright!

  5. We actually have a chalkboard wall in our kitchen that we definitely should take more advantage of! Those wine hourglasses are too funny - I guess it's a race to finish the bottle? :-)

  6. OMG that flatware might have to go on my registry... like, now.

Also, we have a chalkboard wall in our kitchen, so I'm totally feeling your inspiration. :)

  11. I, too, normally go for the all white spaces with brilliant pops of color and patter. This black space is really tempting, though! Beautiful utensil set, as well! Love the "metal blocking".

  13. I go back and forth between dark and rustic or white and airy. It's good I'm still renting - I'd never be able to decide on what I want long-term!

There are so gorgeous rooms in homes, but I am still most amazed by really well design kitchens. WHAT is it about kitchens?!
