What I Wore // Business Appropriate

For this week's outfit post, I was inspired by Stephanie's post where she talked about dressing for business and what "business appropriate" is. In my mind, when I hear those words, I immediately think blazer, blouse, pencil skirt & heels. And not just any pencil skirt, one of those really uncomfortable ones ladies need to wiggle to get into, right?

I can assure you though, this fun peplum skirt from Express is from from wiggle-able! It's super soft and comfy. You don't have to wear a typical pinstripe suit to be "business appropriate". I added a fun blazer with elbow patches from H&M, and this pretty, yet simple blouse from LOFT. I simply added a few accessories (nothing crazy) and my favorite Steve Madden booties, and BAM. I look ready to face the board room.

I certainly don't dress like this every day, but it's nice to get dressed up for work every once in a while. So I have to ask - what exactly does "business appropriate" mean to you?

  2. Love it! Definitely business appropriate but still so cute because of the peplum, cute print top, and sequin heart! To me, business appropriate means classic styles and shapes (pencil skirts, blazers, blouses, trousers, etc.), but no one says you can't have fun with it!

  14. The skirt is SO cute on you - pencil skirts DO NOT work on me. I always wear a-line skirts to interviews, always. I love the printed blouse - just the perfect amount of something cute.
